You Think You Look COOL In That Beanie Hat

The beanie hat, I’m not sure if they call it a beanie hat in America or other places around the world, but if you don’t, know what I’m referring to,  check out the picture. Wolla a beanie hat.

It seems that every man, woman and transsexual are wearing beanie hats nowadays. Hell I even seen a dog wearing one today, it looked kinda cool and stupid at the same time. It seemed happy so I guess that’s what counts.

I personally never went out of my front door for about 5 months without having one of my beanie hats on my head. When you like to keep your head shaved to the bone like I do, it gets a wee bit cold sometimes. So I guess on my part it is a necessity rather than wanting to look cool or hip. I must have first worn a beanie hat around 20 years ago and back in those days I must admit it was more of a fashion statement than any thing else.

Now that the weather here in London is starting to heat up, a beanie hat is no longer required. I haven’t packed them away just yet, because this is the UK I’m living in and the cold weather could come back in the blink of an eye.

I’m just back from my morning power walk and believe me its real  warm this morning in Kilburn. In fact it is t-shirt and shorts weather today. I passed 2 guys, 3 girls, 1 dog and 1 transsexual all wearing beanie hats this morning. I thought WTF, its this warm and you guys are wearing fucking hats.

It wasn’t like any of them were youngsters trying to be cool, they were all as old as me or older. I’m around 39 by the way. They all looked fucking ridiculous, apart from the dog that kinda looked coolish. I don’t know if they were all bald and embarrassed about it, or whether they were all having bad hair days or perhaps the mirror tells them that they look cool as fuck in their beanie hats and without it, they are not quite so cool. CLEAN YOUR MIRRORS!

To make matters worse they were all wearing oversized beanie hats, with the exception of the transsexual and dog, who were wearing normal snug fitting ones. I don’t know about you but in my mind certain fashion statements are best left to the youngsters. Oversized beanie hats on people in their 40′s just looks ridiculous and very rarely works.

Anyway why do woman and men in their 40′s and 50′s want to dress like their sons and daughters? Some people need to have  a reality check. You can look cool without looking ridiculous. Oversized beanie hats are something that needs to be left to the youngsters, that’s just the way it is and accept it.

My words of wisdom today are if the sun is shining and you want to look cool, are bald or your having a bad hair day, get yourself a baseball cap!
