Why are bus drivers such assholes in London, let me rephrase that, why are bus drivers anywhere in the world such assholes. I know for sure that bus drivers in London seem to have huge chip on their shoulders, and it was the same back home in Aberdeen and in fact it was exactly the same when I lived in Barbados.
I was going to say that it must be something to do with the job turning people into complete and utter maniacal assholes. But on reflection I knew a few people prior to them becoming bus drivers and they were assholes before they began the job. Before I get every bus driver in the world having a go at me, there are a few of them that are decent and normal people.
Maybe the problem with some bus drivers is that as soon as they put on that uniform, it gives them an inflated sense of power and their common sense goes out the window. Just maybe they wanted to join the police or the SAS or something but they couldn’t pass the test and the next best option for a free uniform was to become a bus driver.
I could write a book on the things that bus drivers do on a regular basis, which absolutely annoys the hell out of me. But I will keep things short and sweet, because it is Saturday and I need to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
Picture this scenario, which I witnessed just couple of weeks ago. I was walking along the road at around 10pm, and watched a young teenage girl of around 13 years old running to get the bus. She is only about 10 feet away from the bus and the driver pulls off laughing. What sort of man would do such a thing at 10pm at night in any city in the world let alone fucking London. I will tell you what sort of man would do such a thing, a bus driver that works for First Bus!
I wonder if that same bus driver who is a poor example of a human being would have been laughing if such a thing had happened to his own daughter. But I doubt if such a person is capable of holding down a relationship and whether any woman out there would be desperate enough to have sex with such an obvious loser.
Just yesterday afternoon, three busses appear at the bus stop at the same time. The guy next to me couldn’t see the number of the third bus, in fact no one could. After all it was at least about 50 feet away from the bus stop. So he waited patiently for the first two buses to move off, and then he noticed the third bus was the one he wanted. The bus approached the stop and the guy nicely knocks on the door for the driver to open it. What does the driver do, you guessed it he just looks at the customer like he is an idiot and pulls off.
Why is it every time you ask a bus driver a simple question it seems like it is the end of the world for them. Is it too much trouble to answer a question from a member of the public in a decent and pleasant manner. I guess it is. Manners don’t cost anything, it is just pure ignorance the way some of those bus drivers act.
Also are buses drivers aloud to go through red lights, have they got a special license that allows them to drive dangerously, why do you keep on pulling off from the stop when people are climbing up the stairs. I could go on and on, but I have to dash off and catch the bus!
Are there are any bus drivers out there that are honest enough to admit, yes we are total assholes and we need help. Maybe some of those bus companies such as First Bus, that only seem to care about making more and more profit could provide some psychological help to transform the characters of their bus drivers.
It would also be a fairly good idea to give all drivers some customer service training and before I forget, maybe buy them all a copy of the highway could, so they could learn the rules of the road. Another thing it would be handy if you could give half of your bus drivers English lessons as well, because even some of British drivers have problems with understanding English, let alone all the foreign ones there are.
When you read this Mayor Boris, if you doubt anything I have said, come out with me for a few hours and see for yourself. I know you are probably too busy trying to land another part on some crap soap opera or writing your article for your part time job. Mark my words Mayor Boris, London bus drivers are assholes.

Unfortunately, I think that in all of this “please don’t insult, assualt ourprecious staff” stuff, people in this city (and others) have forgotten the basic rule that we all need to respect each other. I can’t tell you how many times I have been treated like an idiot by transport providers in London. I work out my frustration by writing long letters of complaint and requesting proof that the matter is followed up and the driver confronted. It makes me feel better an ruins someone else’s day.
