It was so hot in London on Thursday, that I was wishing I was back home at Aberdeen beach and swimming in the North Sea, and that is saying something because last year when I dipped my toes in it, they turned blue from the cold.

:o) I am really missing my swimming pool. That is possibly the only thing I miss about South Africa (other than being a home owner) but still... I'd sell my husband for a swim right now. In an outdoor pool, not a chlorinated, pee'd in public indoor swimming pool.

I have heard a lot of good things about Cape Town and it is definitely a place that I have on my too visit list. That’s if I survive this heat wave in London.

A few years ago, back home in Aberdeen I went out with a girl from Cape Town and oh boy was she hot.

l had no idea that you were a Scot....ln that case get yourself off to Cape town in SA, yes it gets very hot in the summer but the prevailing "south easter" cools the air a bit. Quality of life is even better than Scotland,---l know because l lived there for 20years.

At this moment in time the quality of life in London for me is amazing, this city is buzzing, I truly love the being here and the adventure of being away from home. Living in a city with such an amazing mix of different nationalities and cultures is a fantastic experience.

I know all about the quality of life in Aberdeen and Scotland, I lived there for 30 something years. Maybe more Scots need to get out into the big bad world and experience life out with the comfort and normality of home. I will return home one of these days to live, but that day is a long, long way off.

Tell you something, I do miss a few things from back home in Aberdeen, but one thing I have always hated all my life, is that dam North Sea breeze, it use to almost kill me in the winter time. But I must admit I wouldn't mind some of it now.....

When the day comes and I have had enough of London, I plan on heading to Africa to experience life over there and then probably back to the Caribbean. I want to carry on travelling and experiencing life in other countries, while I still have the energy and good health to do so.

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. the great affair is to move. Robert Louis Stevenson

My advice, based on personal experience is that you get the hell out of London and come up to Scotland, not because of the weather but quality of life,--- its hot here too but a pleasant cool breeze blowing in from the North sea is reducing the humidity.
