Tower Bridge London | It’s So Exciting Woooh

Tower Bridge in London, is one of the most famous and iconic sights not only in London but the world, even though most American and Japanese tourists think it is London Bridge, but that is another story and I have already done my part in helping to educate tourists.

Tower Bridge is one of those places in London, that every time I see it I have to stop and have a wee gander at it. And especially so when the bridge is being raised to let a ship through. It is a fairly regular occurrence, it happens about 6 or 7 times a week! Until yesterday I had only seen the the Bridge raised and lowered on 1 occasion and that was by chance when I was out and about strolling along beside the Tower of London, and it was like a ruby scrum trying to a good look. Tourists delirious with excitement all around me and who can blame them.

Yesterday evening whilst I was waiting for the excellent ‘I’m A Londoner’ play to begin at The Scoop, I heard the sirens beeping on Tower Bridge, which can only mean one thing…that the Bridge is going to raised to let a ship through. It was an amazing site, there were two old sailing type boats waiting to get through beside where I was standing next to Town Hall and another on the opposite side of the bridge.

I just loved how excited those American tourists were when they noticed Tower Bridge opening up and those old boats..They were maybe old timers but they weren’t scared to show their excitement and they even knew it was Tower Bridge, which was a minor miracle, “Tower Bridge…It’s so exciting woooh, woooh, woooh.” And you know something I’m inclined to agree with them as sad as it may be!
