Totally Useless Population Facts About London And The UK

I’m a loon from Aberdeen in Scotland, which is like a little blip compared to London the capital of the United Kingdom. It has been a major culture shock for me getting use to the hugeness of London.

Also finding my way around and the length of time it can take to get anywhere in this city is unreal. More often than not you have to spend a huge chunk of your day in this crazy city travelling to get to and from places.

I remember when I was living in Barbados I use to bemoan the fact that the Island was too big for me. I thought I was seeking some place even smaller and more intimate to live. And Barbados maybe be a country, but it is only slightly bigger than my home city of Aberdeen and here I am living and enjoying live in London, which is a huge  metropolis of a place.

Lazing around as I do from time to time, I got to thinking about how big London actually was, how many people live here, as well as how those figures compare with the rest of the United Kingdom and the world.

The United Kingdom and London doesn’t seem so huge, when you compare it with other counties and cities throughout the world. I find it truly amazing that  London is the world capital of cool, a place which the leads the world in so many things. It shows that size isn’t everything. Other countries and cities maybe bigger, but they  will never in a million years be as cool as London and the UK.
