Thistle Brighton – Champagne Blogger Meetup Review

Oh I do love to be beside the seaside…and that was where I ventured forth to on Thursday afternoon – Brighton to be precise. The occasion was a Champagne Blogger Meetup organised by the Thistle Brighton Hotel. And oh boy what a brilliant event it was.

In attendance would be some of the best known and loved blogs from London and Brighton, who were there to experience what the Hotel was all about, as well as enjoying the fantastic hospitality on offer – the delicious array of sea food, beverages, and the icing on the cake was the Executive Sea Front room, which had a view to die for and was extremely comfortable.

The Brighton Thistle may not look like the most impressive building in the world from the outside, but when you step through those revolving doors you enter a 4 star hotel which is worth every one of those stars in my humble opinion. You will find everything you would expect in a quality hotel – very nice rooms, with all mod cons. The hotel also has a pool, gym and spa and a selection of conference rooms which are available for small to large scale events and they of course cater for weddings.

On London Is Cool, we have highlighted the somewhat ropey and not so good Customer Service that is often found in London, at the Thistle it was refreshing to come across quality Customer Service. The management really do make a BIG effort to ensure their staff are trained properly!

The pleasing thing about the Champagne Blogger Meetup is that it wasn’t a hard sell, but more like a gentle introduction into what the hotel was all about and I suppose what makes them tick! Bloggers aren’t really the right kind people to make a hard sell to, it wouldn’t go down very well, so the ladies at Big Mouth Media and the Thistle were on the ball…

I personally didn’t get a  chance to see much of Brighton apart from the walk from the Station to the hotel, then a 3 hours walk along the beach. I was impressed with what I saw. The boardwalk along the sea front retains a fair chunk of its historic and beautiful old buildings, and the beach which is around 5 miles long was perfect for clearing my lungs of the polluted London air that I have been breathing in for the past couple of years. I will be back to Brighton at some point in the future, there is a nice feel to the city. The nightlife seems to be buzzing, I can vaguely remember being in a Brazilian club which I think was a lot of fun. If only I could remember more!

Brighton seems like great city to explore, the Thistle Hotel is undoubtedly a fantastic hotel to stay at and especially so if you get one of those sea view rooms. And Brighton Beach is my kinda place, fresh sea air is like health food for the soul! And Brighton is under one hour travelling time from London Victoria…need I say any more!

And stay tuned in people because on Monday along with the other bloggers that were at the event I will be hosting an exclusive competition to win a night of luxury staying in the stunning Thistle Brighton Penthouse suite…
