The Strangest Dream | The Book Will Become Reality
I have a book inside me waiting to burst out. All I have to do is write it. For the past few months I have become obsessed with writing a book that will eventually be turned into a movie. The problem is that my crazed mind has had three different ideas for stories on the go at the same. And each of them has potential, well they do in my mind and that’s what counts..!
It has been such a long time since I have read a really good book or for that matter watched a movie, with some real drama, intrigue and lots of twists and turns, and…and above all else I would like it all to make sense. I want to be able to pick up a book that makes me not want to put it down, or watch a movie that has a real story line with some substance to it.
Having read a few books recently as well as watching a number of movies over the past year, it has got me thinking, how hard can it be to put words together and write something that is equal, if not better than much of the over hyped crap that is out there. I sometimes wonder if some of those reviewing books and movies are taking back handers to say nice things? Yes you know who you are!
As my many thousands of readers will be aware, I was at the Seaside on Sunday. I took a day trip to a cesspit of town called Southend-on-Sea. A place that I would rather not say any more about, apart from that it is hell on earth. Never the less I got plenty of fresh sea air, well I think it was fresh…but who knows. Well anyway when I got back to Kilburn late on Sunday night, I slept like a baby as soon as my head hit the pillow. It has been a long, long time since that has happened.
I woke up in the morning bright and early at around 8.00am and I could vividly remember my rather strange dream. It was strange in the fact that it felt like it was real, as opposed to being a dream. I have never had such a vivid and realistic dream before. I was a modern day Superhero {I guess you could say a cross between, Harry Potter, Rebus & Dr Who} battling to save London from the grip of the evil power mad Mayor Johnson Risbo and his cohorts.
My strange dream has given me the inspiration for the storyline of my first book. When I woke up I spent around one hour furiously typing as much of what I could remember onto my laptop. And wolla just like magic I have begun my quest to write a fantastic piece of fiction. I’m under no grand illusions that I’m going to have a best seller on my hands or make a few million pounds from my efforts, but you never know…I’m allowed to dream aint I.
This being the 21st century I don’t have to worry about getting a publisher and getting my book into print, however if someone wants to give me a publishing deal, that would be awesome. It is so fucking easy to create an Ebook and publish it yourself nowadays. The hard parts of the process are writing the book and getting people to buy it.
I haven’t got a clue how many weeks and months it is going to take me to finish my first fiction novel, it will take as long as it takes I suppose. The fact that I have actually got the hard bit done, which is having a clear picture as to what the story is about and who the main characters are, things are now flowing nicely. And best of all London is a fantastic city for providing amazing locations for the storyline and as a back drop to the action.
My goal is a simple one, get book written…turn into an eBook and publish it. And of course sell thousands upon thousands of it and then turn it into a movie. As walt Disney famously said, “All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them.”
