The Royal Mail And The Evil Plan
As we all know the Royal Mail are back on strike once again, the management are of course blaming the Union and the Union are of course blaming the management. Peter Mandelson is as you would expect is taking a impartial view point in all the proceedings, which is me speaking bull shit. Mandelson as most us know, is all for the privatisation of the Royal Mail and is still in a huff because his evil plan was thwarted.
I personally feel that instead of trying to find a solution Peter Mandelson is doing his best to make sure the strike action not only happens but that it becomes a prolonged dispute. You better believe it, that fucker wants to make sure Royal Mail is privatised and he wants to make his rich tosser friends become even richer in the process.
I haven’t suddenly became a supporter of the postie, you just have to read my previous articles on the Royal Mail and posties to know that I have no sympathy for them. I worked for the Royal Mail for a number of years in a previous life and know that 75% of the blame for the way things are is down to themselves.
I will once again briefly outline why I blame the humble postie for much of today’s problems with their supposed overload of work, which I actually believe to be true in many cases. Ever since time began posties have had an obsession with scoring time and getting finished early. It was an addiction for many. They would start work early, work through there breaks, carry over laden bags, rush round there deliveries. Some of the clowns would even use there own cars so they could speed up the process of getting finished even early.
The above situation resulted in local and higher level management deciding that if these guys don’t want their breaks, which the unions fought tooth and nail to get in the first place, if these suckers like running around and breaking there backs, that’s there problem. But the bottom line is they are still getting finished too early, and that means we can increase there workload even more, they can just start even earlier and run a little bit faster, fuck them fools.
I feel some posties still haven’t got a clue, I witnessed a postie in Kilburn the other day, running down the road at full pelt with his cart. I thought to myself WTF, how stupid is that guy, slavery got abolished a long time ago. If that clown ran into you, it would have been like getting hit by a car, he was going so fast. He looked like a danger to himself and everyone around him.
The management at Royal Mail local delivery offices are not smart guys, they are mostly quite dim and haven’t got a clue. In fact most of them were dodgy, skiving, second rate posties before the funny hand shake got them into a cushy job as a manager. All the managers care about is following orders from Adam Crozier and his goons, that hours have to be saved (how often did I hear those fucking words) jobs have to be lost. The local managers haven’t got the balls to stand up say we can’t make any more cuts or lose any more jobs, because they want to keep there highly paid job, which comes with bonuses, which run into thousands of pounds to make sure they stay faithful to the cause.
I use to find it hilarious the bully boy methods that some of the management liked to indulge in. I remember one midget that use to try and intimidate me, I would just leave even more packets and slow down to stand still. At the end of the day, I knew that he was a little puppet that couldn’t scare a little baby, let alone a man that could have knocked him out with a single punch. But I could see how bully boy management tactics could have a serious effect on some people
For me that is what the Royal Mail is about now. There are plenty of people lurking in the shadows like Adam Crozier, Alan Leighton (previous chairman but I imagine the fucker is still lurking ), Donald Brydon and every single manager at Royal Mail who are having wet dreams about the privatisation of the company. Believe me that is what they want, to get on the gravy train, they want the big money that they think they will make if the company is privatised.
The bottom line is that ever since Alan Leighton got involved it has been about trying to make Royal Mail as profitable as possible and screw the quality of service. Lets just make the money.
The Royal Mail is in the position it is today, because it has been managed by short sighted fools all the way down from the very top to local level managers, and blind posties who haven’t got the time to voice an opinion, they are too busy trying to get finished early, or I should say were.
I remember when I was working in the Royal Mail it was always obvious to me that they didn’t have a clue about modernisation. You just had to look at some of the frames where they sorted mail before they go out on delivery, what a joke and a disgrace they were. It is obvious why so many letters get lost in the post.
I wish I new who was responsible for lack of investment over the years, because once upon a time they Royal Mail was making huge profits every year. We have all heard about the Royal Mail pension black hole, which was again caused by the short sightedness of the management and Government, who sanctioned a 13 year contributions holiday for the company. The humble postie still paid there money every week. What happened with all that money? Ask Tony Blair!
Who can fail to remember when the highly paid management changed the name of Royal Mail one of the most well know brands in the world to Consignia or some bull shit like that and wasted millions in the process. Its hard to believe isn’t it. I can also remember another fiasco there Horizon computer system, which was used at post offices, another multi pound waste of money. I wont even mention Pegasus, I personally know how out of tune with reality that it is. Lots of money wasted, but I can imagine somebody made plenty out of all these glorious failures!
If anybody out there thinks the privatisation of Royal Mail will improve things, you are having a laugh. I don’t think the quality of service would improve with the various private companies, but one thing I do know is that the prices would go up drastically. We just have to look how much it costs, as well as confusing it is to travel on a train now a days, what a fucking nightmare.
What I keep hearing form the Royal Mail hierarchy is that the letters and packet market is declining because of the internet and email. Who the fuck are they trying to kid, yes the letters segment of the market sure has taken a hit from email. But what about all those thousands of online retailers that are posting there packets via Royal Mail, what about those multi millions of items posted by Ebayers. The Royal Mail management must think people are stupid. The internet has increased their business not ruined it. I remember when I worked there as a delivery driver, the packets work load was getting more and more out of control every year.
I personally feel that Royal Mail needs to get back to basics and that is delivering letters and parcels to the right address and within a decent time scale. The Royal Mail use to do it once upon a time, where has it all gone wrong Alan Leighton and Adam Crozier! I know there is a lot of rotten eggs and lazy fuckers working in the Royal Mail who have got away with murder over the years, but there is still a lot of hard working and decent people who deserve to be treated better and fairly.
Ps. Mr Postie, what happened to my two parcels and two important letters that have mysteriously vanished in the post in recent months.
