The Raping of the Niger Delta By SHELL
I think we are all quite aware of how powerful and corrupt all the major players are in the oil industry. The greed for oil and the huge profits that it makes for the oil barons and governments was the main reason that George Bush instigated the Iraq war, the more I think about it, the more certain I am of this.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if the worst and most corrupt American President of all time George Bush had started the Afghanistan war because he wanted to get control of the world heroin trade for his country. May you rot in hell George Bush, along with your equally corrupt buddy Tony Blair.
The greed of the modern day oil barons and their disdain for the natural world, will be their down fall. It has to be. You just have to look at BP, Transocean and Halliburton’s recent handling of the devastating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, all they seemed to care about was the blame game. By all accounts this disaster could have been avoided if BP had taken assertive action, instead of worrying about the loss of a few measly hundred million dollars of profits. All they had to do was shut the well down when the problem with the pipe was first discovered and the environment wouldn’t be suffering like it is now. They have of course fucked themselves in the ass big time because of the billions it is going to cost them to clean up the mess. That’s what I call poetic justice
At last, better late than never I suppose, an American President has finally seen the light and is going to make sure the oil industry is better regulated in American waters. That is good news for the Yanks, but I suppose it still means fuck the rest of the world. If it aint effecting the good old USA, who cares. Much like the British Government and public I suppose. As long you abide by our regulations in the North Sea, and don’t pollute our water or destroy our beaches that’s just fine.
Can you imagine how oil companies such as Shell, BP, Halliburton, Chevron and Transocean operate in countries where there aren’t quite so many regulations and the Governments are ever so slightly corrupt. You just know that the environment isn’t going to be a concern, that local communities and the life’s of the inhabitants aint going to matter a shit. Who cares about clean air, water and peoples healths when there are billions of dollars to be made. The oil companies sure as fuck don’t. The Yanks, British, Dutch and the French public sure as fuck don’t care about anything until it happens on their shores.
A recent campaign by Amnesty International caught my eye concerning how Shell operates in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. How these guys operate is truly disturbing. They really don’t care about the environment or the communities that they destroy in the pursuit of black gold. Shell are a truly evil company.
Amnesty International has been investigating the impact of oil operations in the Niger Delta since early 2008. Fact…Shell’s damaging practices are stripping the people in the Niger Delta of their human rights and keeping them in poverty. Oil spills, gas flaring and pollution are all having a devastating impact on the land and rivers these communities depend upon to survive. I cant believe that in the 21st century that gas flaring is still allowed to happen, they release a huge amount of co2 into the air and guess what, the Niger Delta is one of the biggest gas flaring regions in the world, what a fucking surprise that is…!
If there is one organisation out there that doesn’t have a hidden agenda, it is Amnesty. They are passionate about the injustices that corrupt Governments and huge corporations inflict upon people that otherwise wouldn’t have much of voice. I’m a realist and realise that we need oil and gas, but there must be better ways of doing business…oil companies need to be held more accountable not just in the good old USA and Britain but anywhere they do business on this planet of ours.
In the UK the Politicians are constantly reminding of us of the need to save the environment to look after it better and preserve it for future generations. Do they really mean it or are they just false words to get us to pay more hidden taxes…what do you think? Any British registered companies that are involved in corrupt practices in far flung shores should be held accountable in this country. Polluting the environment and air in other countries no matter how many thousands of miles from the UK has got to have an effect on us somewhere along the line, whether that effect is a moral one or environmental one. Something has to be done to stop the rape of our world by the greed of the few…
Don’t just take my word for it that Shell who recently made 9.8 billion dollars in profits are being allowed to rape the Niger Delta region as they pursue even bigger profits for their greedy executives, and their ever demanding share holders, go check it out for yourself ACT NOW!
NIGER DELTA – CASE STUDY: THE OIL SPILL AT BODO 5, 2008 If you want to go fishing, you have to paddle for about four hours through several rivers before you can get to where you can catch fish and the spill is lesser … some of the fishes we catch, when you open the stomach, it smells of crude oil.

oil spills should be controlled as soon as possible to prevent environmental damage`’.
oil spills can really mess up the environment, i hope we can find a very good solution to control oil spills.
