The Dead Dolls Club Dalston
Last week I headed to Dalston for the launch event of the Dead Dolls Club for an evening of eating, drinking and watching people dance!
The first thing that struck me as I walked into the Dead Dolls Club was the stylishness of the place. The décor was inspired, the candles on the tables, the ambient lighting and various nice little touches combined to create a cool and relaxed venue. I instantly felt like I was in my kinda club!
But was there any substance to match the stylish interior? I have been in quite a few trendy places where the cocktails taste crap, the food is even worse and the beer is overpriced almost undrinkable dishwater! Well the Dead Dolls Club had the obligatory jam jars for the cocktails, however thankfully what I tasted was bang on the money, especially the Game Keeper, a lager based cocktail with two shots in it – how could it be anything but a winner!

I sampled the Beef and Ale stew which was exceptionally good and this Scotsman who was brought up on a diet of stews… knows what he is talking about! It was full of flavour and there was plenty of meat in it.

On tap was London Fields lager, which is a fairly decent brew. However I would have liked to have had the choice of a nice Porter or a darker ale, which would have went perfectly with the stew!

The Dead Dolls Club looks like it will fit perfectly into the Dalston eating and drinking scene. And at the weekends they have a resident DJ hitting the decks for a bit of dancing and what not! Go check it out…
