The Day In The Life Of A London Blogger

Today, Saturday 31 of July I have a day that involves a Restaurant launch, Barclays Live Dance Competition, Truman’s Runner beer, hopefully some crazy golf and then whatever else I can find to do if I have any energy left. Being a blogger and living in a city such as London there is always something happening, as well as  occasional  invites to nice events.

The past few weeks the weather has been pretty dam good in London, it has been warm and sunny most of the time. I have made a fatal mistake, I have taken the weather for granted. I looked out my cool shorts and a nice t-shirt to match them last night, I even spent 15 minutes ironing them so I would look good for the pictures and videos at the Fire & Stone event…WTF it is lashing down with rain this morning.

I know coming from the North East of Scotland that rain shouldn’t bother me too much, I should be use to it. That was then and this is now, the weather in London is a 1000% better than back home and I have been away for over 3 years now, so I guess I have forgotten all about those thousands of days that were ruined by crap weather.

As one of my buddies back home likes to come out with, ‘you only get wet once, so get on with it’, wise words indeed!

Fire & Stone – Are having a launch event today for their fifth restaurant which is about to open in the Spitalfields area of London. I have been invited along with some other bloggers. It should be a fun event which is going to involve lots of eating, filming and picture taking.

Truman Beer – After the restaurant launch I plan on hunting out a pub in the East End of London that is selling Truman Runner, which is a bitter for those of you that don’t know. There is an interesting story behind Truman’s Beer, which I shall tell at a later date. A few months ago I was wandering around Woolwich and I came across a derelict bar with lots of  Truman’s signs adorning the walls outside, ever since I have been curious about who they were, now I know.

Crazy Golf – Yesterday on Twitter I came across a picture of a crazy golf course being set up beside More London, I cant seem to find any information about it, so I’m going down to investigate. Looks like fun and this rain is probably a bonus, cause that should keep the tourists away and you soft Londoners!

Barclays Live Dance – I will probably be soaked to the skin by the time I reach Leicester square for the dance competition. Hopefully it will go off by then, cause these talented guys and girls deserve a good turn out. No matter what the weather is like,  it’s going to be fun!

Hopefully the rain will go off, if not I may well call it day after the Barclays Live Dance event. If it dries up, I may well see what else is happening out there in the big bad city of London.

  1. The weather in London is 1000% better than in Scotland? Wow! Well, from all the bitching and moaning I always hear from people that have been in London about the dreariness and frequent rain, that must mean that Scotland is like a wet hell!

It’s already not exactly on the top of my travel list, but your description of the weather isn’t going to have me moving it up the queue anytime soon, either! lol! ;)
