Telling Lies For Money On The Streets Of London

Karma, lies and begging what do they have in common…I hear you thinking William K Wallace, has finally flipped his lid and went totally crazy. All that polluted London air the poor loon has been breathing in for the past 17 months has finally screwed up his head. Maybe…

Earlier on this afternoon I went down to the postal delivery  office to collect a package that the postie tried to deliver to my door at 7am this morning. It is the weekend and I aint getting out my bed at that time even if the building is on fire! No way!

On the way to the post office there was the usual tall, dark and well dressed guy outside the McDonald’s with his hand stretched out begging for some money for food…it’s always for food. I just wish he would be honest and say it was for booze or a bit of gambling in the William Hills, I see him standing outside virtually every day downing cans of Stella Artois. I did what I always do, which was ignore the fucker…get a job and spend your own money on booze and gambling!

On the way back from the post office with my rather snazzy artist inspired Becks Vier pint glasses sent to me courtesy of the fine folks at the Becks Vier Team, which are going to be put to good use – I noticed the guy that likes to booze it up and gamble on other peoples money, talking the talk with an old woman who gave him couple of quid…’don’t believe a word he says…it’s not for food!’

Standing outside the McDonald’s must be a good spot for the best dressed beggar I have ever seen. Telling lies so he can get money for food, which isn’t really for food…must be a good yarn to spin. Beggar man was going my way…I knew exactly where he was headed. Straight to the corner shop for a can of lager and then straight into the bookies. The old woman’s 2 quid was spent on 1 can of Stella Atrois and blast on the bandit!

Karma, lies and begging…I wonder if the beggar man ever stops and thinks WTF is he doing at 40+ years of age standing on the streets of London begging money off old woman so he can booze and gamble it up. Karma keeps on slapping him hard, because he wants it all for nothing…he hasn’t even got enough pride to go and earn his own dam money to waste on booze and gambling…Sometimes I really hate what people have allowed themselves to become! I hope Karma keeps on slapping this man’s ugly face and everyone like him, until they see the light!

  1. You seem pretty upset by this, aren’t you? I was thinking the other day about pretty much the same thing and reached the conclusion that the action of dropping some coins into the bowl is meant more for the giver than the receiver – the giver, by his action of giving feels good even though he has absolutely no control over what the receiver will do with the money.

So the cynical me gives fully understanding that if I were to pass a quid or two to the ‘homeless’ man on the street, it’s for me, not him.

  2. I get your point…but also the beggar man looked the old woman straight in her eyes and asked for money to buy some food because he was hungry…he told a blatant lie…I don’t think the old woman would have so willingly given money to feed his alcohol and gambling addiction…which will very likely be the death of this man…

  3. I agree Mr Wallace, if people feel the need to help them go buy them something to eat, but most people don’t because they can’t be arsed! Its easier just to sling them a pound.
