Sunshine On London

Sunshine On London

The sun is shining again here in London and the big dilemma I have is where to go to enjoy the rays. I have my shorts on and my shades are sitting snugly on my head as I contemplate where to go to enjoy this fantastic spring weather we are having. Are my legs really so white?

I could jump on a bus and be at my favourite Royal Park, “The Regents Park” in about 15 minutes but I have a feeling that it could be packed with locals and tourists alike today, all  enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. Perhaps, Regents Park will be too much like a Spanish beach for my liking today. By that I mean it may be so busy that I will have a problem trying to find a place to lay down my travel rug.

Another one of my favourite parks is Greenwich Park, but I’m not really in the mood to go all the way over to south east London. But on second thoughts the more I think about it the more I’m tempted to visit this amazing place, which is the oldest of the Royal Parks. It is truly an amazing place.

I better make a decision soon or before I know it the sun will have stopped shining and my legs will still be as pale as ever. Amazingly the Jubilee line is working today, which means I could probably be at Greenwich Park in around an hour or so. Oh what to do.

Hold on a minute I almost forgot about HAMSTEAD HEATH, which is only a wee stroll away. I could walk there in around 45 minutes, but my African Princess aint quite so keen on walking as me. Public transport could get us there in around 40 minutes. I think the HEATH is where I need to be this afternoon with my girl enjoying the sunshine and a few cans of chilled Pims & Lemonade. Oh Yes, the Heath it is.

What I truly love about The Heath is that it never seems to be packed and finding a wee quite spot to chill out in is never a problem. Hampstead Heath really is a great escape from the hustle, bustle and madness of life in the fast lane in London. It is almost like heading out into the countryside. And for some reason you don’t get too many tourists coming all the way to the Heath, even though it is a fairly short and painless journey from central London.

I’m out of here, I’m off to get some well earned rest and relaxation in the sun at Hampstead Heath. And you tourists out there, stick to Hyde Park or The Regents Park they are the places to be, HONEST!
