Summertime Ball It Was Completely Bonkers
I had the good pleasure of being at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon for the Capital FM 2010 Summertime Ball and what an amazing event it turned out to be.
The massive queues to get in were well worth the wait and the oldies singing along to some of the tunes that were coming over the tannoy system helped to brighten things up as we inched our way to the stadium…‘And I’m a little bit lost without you, and I’m a bloody big mess inside. And I’m a little bit lost without you. This aint a love song, this is goodbye…’
What a feeling it is standing in the middle of the Wembley Stadium pitch, it is fucking breathtaking. I can only dream about the buzz that those performing on stage must get when they get the chance to do their thing in front of 70,000 people. You just know that each and every single artist that steps on to the stage at Wembley is going to give it there all.
The show kicked off with Usher who was at one point joined on stage by Justin Bieber and WILL.I.AM which as you can imagine got the crowd going wild. Don’t the little girly’s just love Bieber, the reception that this American teen pop sensation got was phenomenal when he did his own set later. He finished off his performance with ‘Baby’ and the whole stadium was buzzing like crazy. Justin Bieber was joined on stage by Sean Kingston for a rendition of ‘Eenie Meenie’. Its a pity that Kingston never got to do a 15 minute set of his own.
My own personal favourite acts of the day were: Scouting For Girls, these a guys are talented and will be around for a long time. Tinie Tempah, Chipmunk, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Ellie Goulding and Usher who all put in superb performances.
The Summertime Ball was brought to a close by the stunning Rihanna who was on top of her game and put in a fantastic performance. This lady is a massive star on the world stage and quite rightly so, she is amazingly talented. I find it almost mind boggling that she is only 21 years old…it seems that she has been around for ever. A true star.
The star of the show was London’s very own Dizzee Rascal, he literally brought the house down. The rain may have been coming down, but who cared, who even noticed when they were going bonkers to Dizzee. And what a buzz when Florence Welch came on stage to duet with Dizzee on ‘Dirtee Love’. For me the only downside to the whole day was that Dizzee Rascal was on stage for only 15 measly minutes…
We all know the Sun newspaper is full of crap and they are at it a again. I caught a wee gem of creative journalism online this morning from them…that Cheryl Cole got the loudest cheers at Wembley…They are having a fucking laugh…she never even came close to getting the loudest cheers and anybody that was there knows that. I can’t understand why they came out with a blatant lie like this. Rupert Murdoch needs to get his journalists to lay off the booze or get them to stop writing their reviews before the show. Just keeping it real…!

Cheryl didn’t get the loudest screams so why do the press continue to make things up. I can’t understand why they are trying to brainwash people. Justin Bieber got twice as much noise as she did and Pixie lot showed her how real talent does things.
Cheryl Cole really was terrible, she must have a great pr team cause she can’t sing, can barley dance and looks likes she needs to put on 5 stone in weight to look healthy. She is so fake its pathetic.
