Shoreditch Festival | Free London Event
The Shoreditch Festival, which takes place between 16 to 18 of July 2010 at Shoreditch Park in the East End of London, is another free event that all Londoners and tourists alike need to go check out. There will be a wide variety of free activities, events and performances that will be taking place over 3 fun filled days…did I mention it was completely FREE. That is just the right price range for these recessionary times!
The Shoreditch Festival has a track record in putting together a high quality, cutting edge and an imaginative mix of cultural experiences for your entrainment.
Friday – will feature ‘Proms in Shoreditch Park’ with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and an amazing fireworks display.
Saturday – is when the infamous Shoreditch Bark Dog Show takes place, well it will become infamous if I take my wee brute Mable along. There will also be a line up of various live music and festival acts on the main stage, along with a literature and spoken word tent featuring a variety of writers and performers. There will be something to suit all tastes and I would definitely recommend popping into have a wee listen to some of the spoken word artists. If that wasn’t enough to pack into one day there will also be some Barbican Film movies on the big screen and there is of course going to be plenty of activities to keep the children happy.
Sunday – features a collaboration between the Barbican Centre, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Shoreditch Trust. A day of live music, film fashion and dance created by young people for people of all ages to enjoy.
The Shoreditch Festival is definitely an event that has something for all age groups and tastes, so get yourself out of your house and enjoy yourself. Does any other city in the world offer as much free culture as London…
