Send The Prime Minister A Letter And Let Him Know What You Think
As British citizens and for that matter anybody that is living in Great Britain, no matter what the colour of your skin is, no matter what your religious believes are, or whatever your age or gender is, we are allowed freedom of speech. Just like our great allies the United States of America, we are allowed to voice our opinions using any medium we like, whether it is, mail, radio, television, newspapers, the internet or on the streets.
The leader of this country and for the benefit of the Americans, I don’t mean the Queen, she is just a tourist attraction, like those ones you find in Madame Tussauds, but she is alive, I think! I mean Gordon Brown the Prime Minister of Great Britain, is the person we should be bombarding with letters if there is anything that you are unhappy with regarding how this country is governed. I think he can read and if he hasn’t personally got the time to read the letters that are sent to him,, he could give Mrs. Brown a part time job, and even claim her time and effort back on expenses, I’m sure the great British public wouldn’t mind!
For example you may feel that the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, needs to go and buy a new wig or even possible a brush so that he looks a little bit less like a Buffoon. Or maybe something minor! Such as the major problem that seems to exist on the streets of London, with young teenage gangs and thugs. And something that truly amazes me is the lack of policeman that you actually see walking on the streets of London. I know there are policeman working in London, because I hear there dam sirens blasting out every 20 or so minutes as they race down Kilburn High Road.
Whatever you may have on your mind regarding things that need to be sorted out in this country, let PM Gordon Brown know and if you maybe have few solutions as to how those things can be sorted out, that would be even better. Because we wouldn’t want to give Gordon too much to think about or do, I know he has more pressing concerns in far flung places such as the wars in Iraqi and Afghanistan. Issues such as ever increasing street crime, violence murder, rapes, unemployment, poverty and homelessness are things that we are meant to accept?
I wonder if all those Billions of pounds that have been wasted on those recent wars and on saving those banks who through their greedy obsession for more power and profit helped to create a world recession, how much of a better and safer place Britain would be to live in, if that money had been spent more wisely.
I know that at the present time Gordon Brown hasn’t got too many supporters in the UK, but I personally don’t totally blame him. The bottom line is Tony Blair and the evil Cherie Blair, (she just reminds me on a wicked witch) got the hell out of power because they knew there was trouble ahead and they didn’t want to fuck up his earning power from the book deal, tours and various other promotional activities that are currently making him a rich man.
Maybe Gordon Browns last chance of clinging on to power at the next general election, will be if he actually starts listening to the British public and for an amazing change, really does something to address our fears and issues with what’s going wrong in Britain. I for one can remember those dark days when the Conservatives were in power, Margaret Thatcher and then John Major. Those times have left such a disturbing impression on me, that for as long as I live I will never vote conservative, I just wouldn’t do it. I have the perfect slogan for the Conservatives next general election campaign, “Welcome To Your New Hell Suckers”.
For anybody else out there that feels that they have a few words of wisdom that they would like to share with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, send him a letter to his official postal address below. Lets use our right to freedom of speech and voice our opinions to Downing Street, it is after all his duty to listen to the electorate.

Dear Prime Minister
Quote from the Times 07.06.10 “Britain’s debt stands today at £770 billion and will nearly double within five years to £1.4 trillion without radical action to cut public spending, David Cameron said today….The Department of Health, which almost doubled the number of managers in the NHS.”
We are an English couple living in the south Chile, with a rapidly expanding bee keeping business, exporting fine honey to the UK, Canada and Japan.
In my business life in the UK I was managing director of Halfords during its major growth stage in the 80’s. During my time as MD the business grew from just over £ 100 million, to well over £ 300 million turnover. However over the same period I reduced the personnel in Head Office by over 50 %, simply by thinking about how do things more simply and by giving people real responsibility. There is no reason similar savings could not be made in the fat cat government system that has been left to you by Labour.
Chile may seem a long way from the UK but it is a surprisingly modern democratic country that is making a lot of investment in its infrastructure, increasing education and health cover but a country with fairly low level of national debt.
In the 14 years we have lived in Chile we have seen huge advances and have increasingly been impressed by its health system. It effectively works like a private health service, but with basic universal coverage for everyone. I recently required some major and complicated surgery and I chose to have the surgery in Chile as I had a lot more confidence in the hospitals here that with the NHS.
One huge difference is that all patients are responsible for their medical records. Any examination, from a blood sample to a full body scan, is given to the patient, with the accompanying specialist report. In the case of simple things like a blood test, then the patient is given his/her results plus a comparison what are the normal levels for each thing being measured. The storage of the records is the patient’s responsibility not a huge and increasing cost to the health system. There is no one with a greater interest in their health than the person being examined.
The net result is that the hospitals are not full of vast numbers of administrators. The hospitals are run by those who care and know more about patient care – the medical staff themselves.
In the UK people are expected to choose their own spouse, buy their own house, decide their own line of work but are not expected to have the ability to look after their own medical records.
For the series of operations I have just been through I was treated in the Clinica Las Condes in the capital, Santiago. In this hospital every doctor is a shareholder with a vested interest in how the hospital functions. It works like an efficient machine, gives superb patient care and is right at the leading edge of medical advances. This hospital is one of the very top in Chile but all the initial work to identify that I had a problem was done at the local hospital.
Simply cutting costs rarely has a significant effect. The cost cutting is just a perfect excuse for people to say why things are not working. The only way to make savings that are meaningful is to do things differently.
Please excuse the length of this letter but I hope it provides a stimulus to one thought that could make the NHS significantly lighter on its feet, remove a huge weight of administration and save billions (how much did Labour spend on a national records storage system which simply failed?)
Yours sincerely
Ian Staples
It seems that the UK government could learn a lot from Chile and their way of doing things.
I once upon a time worked for a short spell as a civil servant pencil pusher and the way they operated was a complete joke. It was like a working holiday…
I totally agree with your viewpoint on that things need to be done differently. That is the only way that the UK will ever get itself out of this crazy financial black hole it is in.
Hi there I am a working 21 year old lad from Manchester I have worked

And the dole seems very inviteing!
Well thanks for Reading this just a little bit off my chest
There sure seems to be a lot of people out there playing the system, while some of us have to work like dogs to keep our heads above water. Hopefully the Conservatives will sort things out…

I need the police or someone to take action. My neighbours have already wacked my dad with a metal bar and the dad spat on me once. All my teachers keep on asking me about why I am not doing so well at school. I really need advice, because I am beginning to lose my self esteem. The son always pretends to wack my mother and strangle my brothers. I am scared. I want to move as soon as possible. I don’t know what to do. Please could you help me.
Your best bet is to contact the cops, then go to the Citizens Advice Bureau they would be able to offer some professional advice for free. Don’t let them grind you down and if you don’t get the problem sorted start hassling your local MP on a daily basis!

Dear Prime Minister,
I am a year 8 pupil at Cwmtawe Community school,Wales. We recently had a lecture about what is happening to our planet, not only are we ruining other countries but the futures of young people like me.
Before this I was one of many who felt like they couldn’t make a change, but this has made me realise I need to make a change even if its by myself. It may not be a big change but it needs to be done.
I would like you to understand like I did about what we are doing everyday without realising it, these are some of the shocking facts, 26% of all humans on earth are using 80% of the planets resources and don’t even know. There are 7 Billion of us living on planet Earth today, by 2040 there will be 9 Billion, we are already wasting food and many people aren’t able to buy enough already, how will we cope with a extra 2 Billion living on the planet? Another shocking fact, only 2% of clean water is used for drinking! The other 98% is used on washing machines, taps and toilets, we are wasting our water and the worst thing about that is the water WE waste is not even from OUR country.People in other countries are dying just to give us the luxuries we want not need! Why should they give up there lives for selfish people like us?When we go to the shop to buy food we don’t look at where or who made the food, we look at the price, we always go for the cheaper option when all it is is something some poor person or even child has made. The worst thing is hardly any money goes back to the people who need it the most!
If this isn’t making you think just think about how we treat the animals on this planet, we do not own the planet! We were all given a life on this lovely planet, we are all as equal as each other, no animal or man is greater than the other and we should appreciate this.
100 species become extinct everyday but we only discover 36, this means creatures or animals are living out there ready to be discovered but then we kill them whilst making paper because we were too lazy to write on the back or made a mistake so we just threw that piece in the bin!Even the slightest things like this is making a big difference to our lives, we are monsters of our own planet!
By 2040-2045 we will run out of rainforests therefore we wont have some foods, animals and plants!
We’re killing everything, we send murderers to jail for killing people in our country, whilst we kill people in other countries who are the same as us, we might have different skin colours, different languages and religions but we are all equal and we should remember this!
We started helping by cutting down on plastic bags, but this is not good enough, making us buy bags wont make that much of a difference, France and Holland have banned plastic bags completely and you have to take your own, why aren’t we helping the environment by also doing this?
There are many ways we can help change my future, I would love to get involved and make a difference as before this I did not care what was happening as I did not realise just how serious this really is.
Please take notice of my letter as our future is at risk!
Thank you
Catrin Young
DEar SIr I am appalled at the business by local government of providing homes for these so called refugees.
You will probably say it is local government , providing housing at £8000 per month for rent.
I am a person who has served his country in many wars . I have returned and provided for my family. not asked for any thing. YOu and your subsequent government look after people from abroad better, than people who have served this country.
There pensioners living on the bread line and you or your so called government do not help, there are people in care homes who give their life saving to keep alive in homes.
You and your so called governing people who help there selves to the people’s tax money and couldn’t careless about the British people, just, keep dipping into the money trough to line their own pockets .
It is time you looked beyond your nose and see what we normal people have to do to keep going
It is time to take notes.
Catrin Young, hopefully the PM takes heed of your wise words. I know he is a big fan of ‘London Is Cool’.
I totall agree. If they don’t take note, I feel these recent riots will be nothing compared to what will happen in the future.
Dear primeinster,
I think you have gone to far with your edicational cuts and iam a student myself and i want to have a bright future and I dont want you to delay my chances because I want to look after my family when iam older
so I hope you have heard everything I have said.
Your sincerly
Daniel Abodunrin
Daniel Abodunrin I totally agree with your wise words. The PM and his partners in crime have gone to far with a lot of their cuts.
I am absolutely in favour of going to British Summer Time all year round. Why do we have to worry about the Scots – they are wanting independence anyway and if they remain with us, why can’t we have two time zones in the UK – after all in the USA and in Australia there are several time zones to contend with. It makes so much good sense, especially in the area of saving power. I do hope that a negative Scottish reaction will not prevent you this time from going to BST for the whole year.
zuena, at the moment the Scots have a voice because we are unfortunately still part of the so called United Kingdom. When we finally get our freedom and we become an independent country again, which is only a matter of time, England can do what is right for them.
dear prime minister,
I’m a kid, almost a teenager , I have been having quite a lot of hard times in my house with my parents, I have been hearing about how much money my parents have to pay, our car has been taken away, and we get a lot of phone bills, which they are cheating on, many things have been happening wrong in London, and most of all unfair things, for example; I have many friends from school that they have benefits, but their parents still work and get money, instead the rest of us we have to pay for them, once my parents received the money on their account, the money goes away quickly because of the benefits, I think this is unfair because, my parents work really hard for each other, we only receive a little bit of money, and that money goes to the council, or charity, and we get very disappointed, all that hard work for nothing, it’s appealing how we’re still in the same situation.
sometimes I feel like we’re going to end up in no-were, but my parents strongly make me believe that things are going to get better, because we know someone some day will stop this nonsense, so that is why I’m writing a letter to you.
I really hope something will change around here.
Paula, you tell him and if a enough people keep speaking up he will have to listen one day…
