Saturday Night At The Movies In London

Saturday Night At The Movies In London

“Well Saturday night at 8 o’clock ,I know where I’m gonna go, I’m gonna pick my baby up, And take her to the picture show”.

I’m a regular visitor to the Cinema, for me nothing beats watching a good movie on the big screen. It sure as hell beats watching those 5 movies for £10 that the Chinese are always peddling along Kilburn High Road. The experience of watching a good movie or even a crap movie for that matter on the big screen, compared to the television or on a computer is like comparing Asda’s own brand lager with Dom Perignon, they are worlds apart.

I was talking with some of my friends the other day and I was curious as to what movies they had recently watched. And I was amazed that out of six couples that none of them could even remember the last movie they had watched at the cinema. I thought fuck they are all getting old before their time. It seems that the guys think it is a waste of money to take your woman to see a movie. But they don’t mind spending 50 or 60 quid on a night out boozing. Or even more disturbing it is okay to constantly lose 20 quid on another donkey of a horse at the bookies. But it is a waste of money to take your girl out to a movie. I wonder how many of them will still be together in 5 years time?

For me a Saturday night at the movies or any night at the movies for that matter is fun when I’m with my girl, it is still a buzz for me, even though I’m around 39 years old. I think we are going to see “Shutter Island” tonight. I hope its a good movie, but if it’s not I will still have had a good night out with my girl.

I must admit that it can occasionally be a pain in the ass watching a movie at the cinema and it is especially noticeable here in London, the amount of twats that cant shut their mouths while  the movie is on. What is it with these losers, they pay close to £10 a pop to talk shit to their friend while the movie is on. Go and sit on a park bench and talk there, its FREE. My advice when that happens is to complain to the management and you will be given free tickets to a movie of your choice sometime in the future.

A night out at the movies may not be quite so cheap nowadays, but can you really put a  price on spending some quality fun time with your partner. It is a good change from sitting in front of the telly or sitting in the same old pub again.

“Saturday night at the movies , Who cares what picture you see, When you’re hugging with your, baby in last row in the balcony”.
