Remembering Summer 2011 – Carnival Pictures
Summer is now officially over for another year, so I thought it would be a good idea to take you back a few months to August 29 and the Notting Hill Carnival, the biggest, best, loudest, chaotic, busiest and vibrant party of the year that London has to offer. What better way to begin the Winter season than with a few pictures from the Carnival … yes indeed!
What I truly find amazing is that ONLY close to 1 million people line the route of the Notting Hill Carnival and a lot of those people are tourists. I guess there is a lot of Londoners or adopted Londoners that have better things to do than enjoy an iconic event such as the Notting Hill Carnival. And as far as trouble is concerned I see more public disorder and mayhem on the streets of Kilburn on a quiet Saturday night than I have seen at the last 3 years at the Carnival.
I know there are many Londoners who absolutely loath the Winter months … but not this Scottish loon. The most beautiful sunsets I have seen since I started living in London have been witnessed during the cold Winter months. Why not wrap yourself up real good when the opportunity arises and get yourself along to Waterloo Bridge, Primrose Hill or Kensington Park to name but a few great locations with your partner and enjoy the beautiful and truly romantic spectacle of watching a sunset together.
Romance isn’t dead or it shouldn’t be…why not take a bottle of the fizzy stuff with you and make it a memorable moment in time that will never be forgotten…
