Real Magic At Trafalgar Square
By chance the other day I stumbled upon Trafalgar Square and noticed that there was a wee stage and deck chairs all over the place. I noticed some activity happening around the stage area so I hung around to see the show. I later found out it was part of an event organised by the good old Mayor of London Boris, called One Magic Summer. It is good to see that the Mayors office is getting more orginal and coming up with some good and orginal talent for such events.
I kept my fingers crossed that the boring twat Paul Daniels wouldn’t appeared out of thin air, or I would have been out of there like a shot. That guy gives magic a bad name and how he ever become famous or even made a living out of peddling the crap that he did, I will never know.
The show was called “It’s a Sort of Magic” and the stars of the show were the legendary Zigmund and Froyd, who are non identical twins who were born to the same father, you go figure that one out! The rock ballads were pumping out, the stage was set for a magical show with a difference.
I don’t want to give the show away but Zigmund and Froyd deserve to be on a much bigger stage, and one of these days they probably will be. The show was pure class, very funny and one of the best magic shows you are ever likely to see. We all know that magic is all about slight of hand and deception and these guys are true masters of magic, or I should say comedy magic.
At last Mayor Boris has finally put on an event in London that I can praise, and it is free. Zigmund and Froyd said the immortal words its free, your council tax is paying for it. Wise words indeed.
If you haven’t been to One Magic Summer at Trafalgar Square in London yet, you really should because from what I have seen so far, it is fun event. Today is the last chance to see Zigmund and Froyd, and along with other acts they can be seen between 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm.
The sun is shining today and I think I will get my shorts on, lash on some sun tan lotion and go grab myself a deck chair at Trafalgar Square and go watch some magic again. If you see midget in disguise lurking in the crowd and it looks like Paul Daniels, it probably is him trying to steal some originality from Zigmund and Froyd.
The good news is that One Magic Summer event at Trafalgar Square will be on again next week from 27-31 August, at 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm. Not only will adults with a sense of humour love it, but the kids will most definitely be enthralled by it.
I have to argue with Mayor Boris when he says that he says Trafalgar Square is the perfect place to take a break and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Has he ever been to Trafalgar Square it is pure hustle and bustle in the city. Maybe if it had been held in a park, it would have been more of an escape from the city. Also Boris for it to be a traditional British style summer, we need tiny bit of sunshine followed by days of rain, that would truly be the kind of summer I’m used to in Britian.
London Is Cool, is just keeping it real……….
