Primrose Hill A Great Place To Chill Out In London
Primrose Hill in North West London is a wee hill and park area that is a great place to enjoy life in London when the sun is shining. After many hours wandering around Camden on Sunday I took a wee stroll up a hill that may be only 256 feet high, but I can assure you it offers some of the best views you will find anywhere in this city.
On Sunday afternoon Primrose Hill and park was fairly busy with people enjoying the sun and quite rightly so. Who would want to be stuck indoors on a day like this unless you never had a choice. There were loads of couples, families, singletons, as well as large and small groups of people. Some were playing rounders, football, sunbathing, reading, walking their dogs, and the more energetic were jogging, cycling or walking. I had done enough walking it was lazing around time for me.
I grabbed a seat on a park bench at the bottom of the hill and opened up a ice cold bottle of Sol lager and indulged in some serious chilling out in the sunshine…while it lasted. Even though Primrose Hill was fairly busy, it wasn’t packed. There was still plenty of places where you could get away from the crowds.
I have been to Primrose Hill quite a few times and the views from the top of the Hill are pretty dam impressive. Some people say they are the best free views in all of London. I personally prefer the views at Greenwich Park, but that’s just me. Each to their own as the saying goes! The best thing about the views from the top of Primrose Hill is that it doesn’t take much effort to get to the summit of the hill. It is more like a wee mound, as opposed to a hill.
The top of Primrose Hill, is where most of the people like to congregate to enjoy the fantastic views and who can blame them…

It’s also a great place to live if you ever win the lottery.
Also you could have tried the pub at the bottom of the hill. It’s not brilliant but whenever is just 1 Sol enough.
Ryan, it is a place for people that don’t like walking to get some great views without putting any effort into it. I use to have to walk up 2 hills 4 times steeper than that to get to primary School when I was a kid.
Steve, there is seemingly a few famous names living around there, that chef, whatever his name is Jammie something or other…has a huge house there, in fact it is 2 houses joined together…
Rainbowsurfer, 1 Sol is never enough, fortunately I had a pack of 4…which cost 4 quid, which would have probably been the price of 1 in a Promise Hill pub…
Before I arrived at Primrose Hill, I was in ‘The Cuban’ for a couple of Mojitos, and I felt real pain when I paid for them, but they were excellent!
