Pictures Of A Wee Night Time Walk Along The River Thames

There is nothing quite like a wee stroll along the River Thames in London, it is the perfect way to take in some of the cities many famous sites. As much as I like walking along the Thames during the day, in my mind the river doesn’t truly comes alive until night time, once it gets dark.

I find it almost magical looking at all the buildings along the River Bank lit up, along with the reflections of the lights and buildings on the water. All the different colours of lights reflecting off the water is way better than any art you will find in the Tate Modern.

It was a full moon on Saturday, which I feel probably added to the Thames looking so amazing. I started off beside Battersea Power Station, and it looked totally stunning as the old power station reflected off the water.

I must admit the only disappointing aspects of my night time River Thames walk was I wish they would light up the Tate Modern at night. You would have thought that such a place that thinks so highly of itself, would have the building lit up in a cutting edge way. Maybe not! Also Tower Bridge it would have been nice to have seen it lit up in a more fitting manner of such a London icon.

Another thing, which I thought that was disturbing about walking along the River Thames for close to 4 hours, was that during that whole time I never passed one single walking police man. In fact all I passed during my whole walk was believe it or not, 2 toy cops, sorry I meant to say Police Community Support Officers. During my walk I walked from Battersea Power Station to Blackfriars Bridge!

A night times stroll along the River Thames is a great walk for those of you that have a bit of romance in your heart and soul. It was good to see that there was quite a few lovers strolling along Albert Embankment enjoying each others company. Romance isn’t dead in London!
