Pictures From Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square in London is quite probably one of my favourite places for people watching. I love grabbing myself a seat on a bench or on top of Nelson’s Column and just watching the world go by. It is a great place to chill out for a few hours, it is the centre of London in more ways than one.

When I was there on Saturday afternoon I was sorely tempted to jump into one of the fountains, as a way of cooling off. I think it would have been an amazing feeling. However those toy cops that were walking around would have probably arrested me or whatever it is they are allowed to do. However watching and listening to the fountains spraying the water into the air was a good to way to relax, even though I couldn’t jump in.

I doubt if very many tourists come to London and not visit Trafalgar Square it is a place that has so much history behind it, the statures and the beautiful buildings make it a wonderful place to get into the London vibe. And I wonder how many millions of photos are snapped every year by excited visitors as they enjoy the offerings of Trafalgar Square…

  1. My favourite photos of Trafalgar square are the ones my uncle has of him and his mates, after Scotland beat England at Wembley in 1977. Looks like a scene from Braveheart.

  4. Watching those photos bring back some memories. London is such a cool place, better than Paris. Hopefully I will go back there one day. I would love to see some pics on Oxford street. Is the Virgin mega store still there on that corner? At the time that was the biggest music store I had ever seen.

  5. Virgin Mega stores are no more. Richard Branson sold his chain of stores to Zawi, who went bust a number of years ago.

Maybe one of these days I will get myself along to Oxford Street and stay there long enough to take some pictures…

  6. Great photos. The one with the double decker is a classic.
