The heavens opened and the snow fell like crazy in London on Saturday afternoon and being one of those crazed individuals that truly loves the white stuff I made the most of it. I walked and I kept on walking and somehow I eventually ended up at Regent’s Canal.

The Regent’s Canal towpath was covered in snow and the water of the canal was almost frozen over. It was a real winter wonderland. You can read the full story right here, A Snowy Walk Along Regent’s Canal.

Even though the snow was falling quite heavily in London Town and the city had turned white in the space of few hours, it wasn’t cold. Or maybe I was just smart enough to dress up for the occasion!

For some strange reason I never encountered too many people walking along Regent’s Canal on a day when it was looking stunningly beautiful. I did pass by a few couples out for a romantic stroll, which was good to see. Unfortunately my African Princess was working hard, so I was all alone.

The Regent’s Canal is a fantastic place to relax and escape the madness that is London. Walking along next to the water is such a soothing experience and with the landscape turned white from the snow it truly was a beautiful place to be…

  1. I shouldn’t gloat but.. it’s nice to see other parts of the world get a taste of a Canadian winter..:)

  2. I have heard about those Canadian winters and I think what we are experiencing in London is tame in comparison.

  3. How brilliant is that capturing the Regents Canal covered in snow and iced up a bit, they are amazing.

When all that snow was coming down Saturday i was walking to my GP’s at Little Venice, it was a long time that i have seen snow like that in London.

Thanks for sharing William i enjoyed them

    Have a lovely Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Regents Canal sure was looking amazing on Saturday, I couldn’t belive how beautiful it looked.

  5. Wow, I was there during the summer and it looks so much cooler with all the snow! No snow here ๐Ÿ™

  6. The snow definitely gives things a different feel. I wish I could send some snow to you, but there isn’t enough in London as it is!

  7. I was there on my 1st day in London this summer and couldn’t think it can look so beautyful covered with snow! It looks lovely on a good august day too though ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Ekaterina, On a nice summers day when the sun is shinning and the sky is blue sure is a great time to wander along the canal. As pretty as it looked when it was covered in snow, I think I might just prefer it during the summer because I can sit down and enjoy the scenery, it was too cold to do that when everything was covered in snow.
