New Cuba Sound Live At The Barbican
The sweet sounds and rhythms all the way from Havana, Cuba are headed to London again on 6 July 2010, when Gilles Peterson & Roberto Fonseca present Havana Cultura Live New Cuba Sound. I have made sure I have got my own tickets organised before I publicised this event, because it is going to be a sell out.
I have been to numerous Cuban music and dance related shows in London over the past year and they have all been highly entertaining events, where I have had a chance to experience the amazing energy, vibe and passion that is coming out of Havana. There truly is an unbelievable amount of talent coming out of this tiny Caribbean Island and thanks to the Havana Cultura initiative performers and artists from all disciplines, including musicians, visual artists, dancers, performers and writers are been giving the means to showcase their creativity and talents to the world.
New Sound Cuba Live concert at the Barbican is going to feature the freshest musical talent from Cuba, including Roberto Fonseca and his band, Danay and Ogguere, who are all renowned and talented artists – performing Latin, afro jazz and fusion to hip hop, funk, reggaeton and R&B. And for me having the opportunity to see them all on the same night is something that truly has me buzzing just thinking about it.
