Moving Forward In Life

New Years Eve 2010 seems like a distant memory. Do you remember all those New Years resolutions that you promised yourself that you would stick to this year. This would be the year that you finally got yourself moving forward in the adventure of life and start achieving great things. I sure do.

I wonder how many people can even remember what their resolutions were for 2010, let alone stuck to them. If I had listened to myself I would have made a written note of my goals for this year and how I planned to achieve them. Sadly I thought I would just make a mental note of them, but I have came to the realisation that was a big mistake.

The bottom line is that when goals, aims, aspirations or whatever you want to call them are written down they become more real. You have a reminder of what it is your trying to achieve or where you are attempting to get too. In my case everything has became jumbled up and kinda lost in a hazy cloud in my mind.

I started off this year with unprecedented amounts of believe and enthusiasm, as well as putting in plenty of effort on my journey to get to the place I want to be in  life. Fast forward to March and I seem to be moving backwards instead of forwards. I somehow have allowed myself to lose focus and get stuck into just drifting along slowly.

I can’t believe how quickly time is passing me by, is it really spring already, wow. The truly scary prospect for me is that before I know it another year will be done and I will still be at the same place I was at when this one began, which was full of hope and unfulfilled dreams.

Spring is the perfect time to do some “spring cleaning” and I don’t mean just giving your house a good clean, but from a personal perspective. All I have to do is write down my goals and how I plan on making them happen. A little bit of planning goes a long way. There is no point in writing down your goal, which could be to make a 1 million pounds this year, if you do not have a plan as how you are going to make it happen.

The story is not a long one because life is just a short term lease. I better get on with my spring cleaning before another year is gone by on my lease.
