Magical Moment – London Picture of the Week

What a beautiful day it was in London today – summer is not over yet – the sun was shining bright, the sky was blue and the air was warm so, off I went to one of my favourite places in London, Hampstead Heath! The Heath never fails to deliver, it is a truly magical place…

My plan was to go for a long walk around Hampstead Heath… the plan was changed when I found a a place to sit next to the waters edge of the Hampstead Pond. I had some shade from the sun, there were dragon flies buzzing around, ducks gliding along the surface of the water and best of all there were no people – apart from in the distance! The hustle and bustle, the madness of London life  felt so far away… until I heard the police sirens in the distance and a big rat walked past the waters edge, only 3 feet in front of me! The magic was spoiled, but at least it felt good for a while…
