London Question Time | London Is Cool
I have decided to host my very own weekly London Question Time. Each week I will provide the answer to 10 questions relating to Life in the capital of Cool, London, England.
You never know when one of my questions may get asked in the local pub quiz or when you finally get smart enough to make it to Mastermind or perhaps you get lucky enough to get onto some second rate UK television quiz show. So they may possible come in useful one of these days.
So guys and girls pay attention and maybe you will learn something new about this crazy city known as London. There isn’t not going to be any rhyme nor reason or specific theme to my questions, just 10 random questions.

1. When was the Great Fire of London?
The Great Fire of London started on Sunday 2nd of September and finished on the 5th of September 1666.
2. How many of the current football teams in the Barclays Premier League season 2009/10 are based in London ?
Five teams from London currently play in the Premier League – Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
3. Which London bridge was destroyed in the 2009 Harry Potter film, The Half-Blood Prince?
It is of course the Millennium Bridge, which was destroyed by some of Lord Voldemort’s Death Eaters.
4. When was the great Scottish freedom fighter and patriot William Wallace executed?
William Wallace was executed on the 23 of August 1305 when he was taken to the Elms in Smithfield, where he was hanged drawn and quartered.
5. Who is the current Lord Mayor of the city of London 2009 – 2010? (please note this is a different position to that of Mayor of London)
The current Lord Mayor of the City of London is Nicholas Anstee.
6. What is the tallest building in London?
The tallest building in London is currently, One Canada Square, also known as the Canary Wharf Tower. It stands at 235 meters or if you prefer 800 feet. (It is going to lose its title in 2010)
7. When Britain was part of the Roman Empire what did the Romans call London.
The Romans called London, Londinium.
8. When did Prince Charles marry Diana.
Prince Charles and Diana married on the 29 July 1981 at St Pauls Cathedral. She had just turned when 20, when she married the 32 year old Prince, is there something sick about that, or is it just me.
9. When was the Bank of England founded?
The Bank of England was founded in 1694 by a Scotsman, William Paterson and its original home was in Walbrook in the City of London.
10. What is the coolest blog relating to life in London.
That one is easy to answer it is of course the one and only, London Is Cool. There are also plenty of other fantastic London blogs out there.
