It sure is a long road from London to Aberdeen. It has been while since I left my home city in the North East of Scotland to go and live in Barbados and of course I have now somehow ended up living in London. Life has become an adventure and that is the way I like it.
It has been 15 months since I left Aberdeen on a rainy Saturday morning to begin my adventure of experiencing what life has to offer outside the comfort and predictability of my place of birth. During my time away from home, I haven’t really experienced any homesickness and I must admit I haven’t got any real desire to head home even for a visit. I do however miss my friends and family and will get myself on the road back home for a visit sometime in the not too distant future!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Aberdeen, it is a good place to live and work, but it isn’t exactly the most cosmopolitan or friendliest city in the world to live in, but never the less it is home and home is where the heart supposedly lies. But then again home can also be wherever you lay your hat and for now my hat is in London.
Sitting here this Sunday afternoon, contemplating what I’m going to do with myself, it got me to thinking about, how far it was distance wise from London to Aberdeen.
When I finally decide when I’m going to make that journey back home to Aberdeen, there is really only one method of travel that I would seriously consider and that is of course flying. I will be smart and book my journey a good few months in advance and by doing so I reckon I will get a flight for under £80 return, which isn’t too bad at all.
