Horse’s Head At Mount Street Gardens – And Not a Wise Guy In Sight!

Horse’s Head At Mount Street Gardens – And Not a Wise Guy In Sight!

I have always had a huge dislike of horse’s heads ever since I watched the classic 1972 movie The Godfather – imagine waking up in the morning and pulling your silk sheets back to find a big bloody horses head staring you straight in the face… YIKES! I may add I don’t mind horse’s heads quite so much when they are still attached to the horse! Just the other day I stumbled upon a big bronze horse’s head in Mount Street Gardens in Mayfair and thankfully this horse’s head is a work of beauty as opposed to a nightmare!

This impressive sculpture is called ‘Fire’ and is by the artist Nic Fiddian-Green – a sculptor who has been creating monumental horses heads for 25 plus years.

Fire is on temporary public display in Mount Street Gardens so get along and check it out the sculpture while you can and what is a great wee garden.

Nic Fiddian Green has another truly monumental sculpture on pubic display at Marble Arch called Marwari.

  1. I have never seen just a horse head statue. It is posing as if it wants to be petted.

  2. Nice piece of work indeed.

I hear you about the movie Godfather.

    Have a terrific day. 🙂

  3. AVCr8teur now you mention it, the horse does indeed look that way!

Comedy Plus, it sure is… horses head in my bed is nightmare material!
