Hearts and Heritage Walk London

Hearts and Heritage Walk London

A new fun event has been added to the London charity scene with the introduction of the Hearts & Heritage Walk, which is an accompaniment to the The Royal Parks Foundation half marathon that is going to be taken place on Sunday 10th of October. The walk is aimed at those of you who are like me and feel ill at the prospect of having to run 13.1 miles! Why run, when you can walk and enjoy your surroundings.

The Hearts and Heritage Walk will follow a 13.1 mile route that will take you through four of London’s beautiful and magnificent Royal Parks – Hyde Park, St James’s Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as passing by some of the City’s most famous buildings and Landmarks, which will truly help to make the walk a  joy. Just think of all those runners that are panting like crazy and sweating like dogs as they rush past such amazing scenery!

As I mentioned right at the beginning it is a charity event and as you can imagine there is a entry fee to take part in the walk, which sure aint cheap, but I suppose this event is helping to support a lot of good causes. The walk will set you back £45, which includes your entry fee to the race, timing chip and a medal when you pass that finish-line. If you have a spare 45 quid knocking about why not put it to good use – you could help a lot of charities, have a fun day out and get some exercise into the bargain…

The race organisers have thought of everything and have really pulled out all the stops to make it a fun day out. The Hearts and Heritage Walk comprises what they call two waves -

1. The Hearts Wave – a dating wave that will provide those looking to meet like-minded people with a wonderful opportunity to mingle in a relaxed fashion in some of the most romantic and scenic spots in London.

2. The History & Heritage Wave  – will take walkers on a guided journey through London and offer a fabulous chance for families, couples or groups friends to walk a stunning route whilst learning about the Parks and London’s history and heritage (including recent events) along the way

  1. Ok, just before I was about to ask if you will be running, you cleared that right up! ;)

Sounds like a good event! Are you guys as big on marathons and 10k’s and such like we are here? It seems that every town, city and state here has some type of race, and also walk/races for every disease, too.
You’d think we’d all be skinny and fit as hell with all the running events on the calendar here! ;)

  2. It seems that this year there are loads of walk/running type events for countless charities in London. I personally can see it reaching saturation point in the very near future.

I maybe don’t run but I try to skip at least 4 to 5 times a week for around 20 minutes a session, which I find less painful on my old knees…

Getting skinny is easy, lay off the food and booze, but that aint so much fun. Most guy’s don’t dig skinny woman…
