Fryent Country Park A Great Escape From the Hustle & Bustle

Fryent Country Park A Great Escape From the Hustle & Bustle

As soon as stepped away from the busy road and set foot inside Fryent Country Park I knew that I had found a very special place. If it wasn’t for the noise from the cars blasting along the road which intersects the park  I would have sworn I was deep in Middlesex countryside…thankfully the noise soon disappeared after a few minutes.

Fryent Country Park is located in North West London, only a short walk away from Kingsbury Tube Station…so it is fairly easy to get too. It is a designated nature reserve made up of 254 acres of unspoilt countryside – rolling hills, meadows, wooded areas, ponds, hedges and bushes galore.

During my recent wander I almost felt like rushing to the nearest camping shop and buying myself a tent and pitching up for the night…a wondrous place, which will become even more wondrous when Summer finally arrives…

Everywhere I roamed within Fryent Country Park I marvelled at the views, and how far I seemed to be from the buzz of London life. It took me around 20 minutes until I spotted another living soul…he was a Goth so maybe living is the right word to use! When I reached Barn Hill which sits 84 meters above sea level there were a couple of like minded souls out enjoying nature.

Fryent Country Park A Great Escape From the Hustle & Bustle

I finished my adventure on top of Gotfords Hill (63 metres) and enjoyed the sight of a beautiful sunset in front, and a full moon behind me. Thankfully I was wrapped up good so I was nice and warm…who cares or notices cold weather when you have the right gear on…

There is more…much more to London than just central London, the Royal Parks and Hampstead Heath… Fryent Country Park is a truly fantastic place from which escape the hustle and bustle of big city life. I can’t wait to return during the Summer months when all the trees, hedges, bushes and wild flowers have come to life…
