For All American Tourists Going To London

For All American Tourists Going To London

London Bridge is a nursery rhyme that is sang by children all over the world and especially by American tourists when they visit Tower Bridge the famous London icon for the first time. It sure is a wondrous spectacle that always brings a big smile to my face.

Because I’m a nice guy I thought it would be a good idea to make the words of “London Bridge Is Falling Down” available so all those tourists who are confused about what bridge they are looking at, so  they  can at least   sing more than just the first verse. “Maybe they can change the words to “Tower Bridge Is Falling Down” instead or go and visit the real “London Bridge and sing the song there.

All my American friends out there I’m glad you have got a sense of humour and that you don’t take such triviality too seriously. An even funnier sight is watching a coach load of Japanese Tourists singing “London Bridge Is Falling Down”, I just just wish I could have videoed that experience. It would have been a big Youttube hit.

London Bridge is Falling Downstairs

London Bridge is falling down,

Falling down, falling down,

London Bridge is falling down,

My fair Lady.

Build it up with wood and clay,

Wood and clay, wood and clay,

Build it up with wood and clay,

My fair Lady.

Wood and clay will wash away,

Wash away, wash away,

Wood and clay will wash away,

My fair Lady.

Build it up with bricks and mortar,

Bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar,

Build it up with bricks and mortar,

My fair Lady.

Bricks and mortar will not stay,

Will not stay, will not stay,

Bricks and mortar will not stay,

My fair Lady.

Build it up with iron and steel,

Iron and steel, iron and steel,

Build it up with iron and steel,

My fair Lady.

Iron and steel will bend and bow,

Bend and bow, bend and bow,

Iron and steel will bend and bow,

My fair Lady.

Build it up with silver and gold,

Silver and gold, silver and gold,

Build it up with silver and gold,

My fair Lady.

Silver and gold will be stolen away,

Stolen away, stolen away,

Silver and gold will be stolen away,

My fair Lady.

Set a man to watch all nigh,

Watch all night, watch all night,

Set a man to watch all night,

My fair Lady.

Suppose the man should fall asleep,

Fall asleep, fall asleep,

Suppose the man should fall asleep?

My fair Lady.

Give him a pipe to smoke all night,

Smoke all night, smoke all night,

Give him a pipe to smoke all night,

My fair Lady.

I found an amazing rendition of “London Bridge Is Falling Down” on Youtube. I maybe cant understand a single word, but it still sounds amazing.
