Extortionate London Lollies And The Crazy Scotsman

Just recently I have developed a real craving for ice lollies. It must be something to do with this amazing weather we are having in London. I devour at least four of the delicious things a day. I buy a box of ten in the local Sainsbury’s for £1.36, which is a real bargain from that overpriced bunch of crooks!

These lollies are the fucking business, they have a touch of real fruit concentrate in them, which give them so much flavour. My personal favourite is the Blackcurrant ones. If you were to give me the choice between an ice cold bottle of Heineken, which I love, or a Sainsbury’s real fruit ice lolly, I would take the lolly, that’s how much I crave the things.

Earlier on this afternoon I was out and about on a secret mission to Willesden Green, which is a bit of stroll, but I like to stay in shape so I walked it. It was thirsty work walking in the heat, so I nipped into a newsagents for a bottle of water. I noticed the shopkeeper was selling the Sainsbury’s lollies, I could spot them a mile off. I literally started to foam at the mouth, just like my Staffie Mable does when she watches me eat anything!

I was tempted to buy one. They weren’t priced, so I asked how much they were and I just about died laughing when the guy said £1.36. WTF…I could get 10 in Sainsbury’s, which was only a five minute stroll further down the road. The fucker was going into Sainsbury’s buying boxes of them and then selling them individually for the price of a box.

I gave the lolly a miss and bought an overpriced bottle of water, which was thankfully nicely chilled. On the way back up the road to Kilburn I bought a box of the lollies from Sainsbury’s, and demolished four of them before I got home. And I managed to walk fast enough so the other ones hadn’t melted too much before I got home. At the corner shops price that box was worth £13.60…fucking crooks..!
