But, I think the answer is simple economics. These women do not have a great future at home and why not live with a man who will (hopefully) love and respect them and then they will have made their money. From the guys point of view I think that they are looking for a shag and a housekeeper who doesn't threaten them or make major demands (other than financial) that they can't meet. Both parties are reasonably happy and seem to get what they want. PS - I have heard it said that the bedroom scene doesn't require much viagra.
