Cabana Westfield London: Eating Out In the London

Cabana Westfield London: Eating Out In the London

Last Friday evening I went to Westfield London Shopping Centre to enjoy a ‘date night’ with my girl. Romance isn’t just for Valentines day!

I had been invited by Food Explorer at Westfield London to go for a meal in any restaurant that ‘tickled my fancy’, as they say!

I know a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily think… shopping centre, lets go for something to eat, but the choice of places to eat and for that matter enjoy a few drinks at Westfield London is pretty impressive! There really are loads of places to choose from… in fact there are 32 restaurants in total, with 19 located on the impressive Southern Terrace.

After a lot of deliberation we decided to eat at Cabana Brasilian Barbecueon the Southern Terrace.

We arrived nice and early at around 6.pm, there were no queues at this time! There were when we left 2 hours later, which shows the popularity of Cabana, Brasilian food and the location.

The first thing that grabbed my attention when we walked into Cabana, was the décor, it is bright, alive, colourful and vibrant… just the way I like it. I was hoping the food would just as good for the my soul!

To get the ball rolling we  had a portion of the aged Parmesan to dip in wild honey: sounded delicious, and it tasted as good as it sounded.

I had heard through the grapevine that Cabana did a fairly decent Original Caipirinha and they indeed tasted superb, as did the strawberry, and passion fruit ones. They are a real bargain at only £6.25. The lager at £4.99 was a wee bit on the expensive side!

For starters we shared a couple of items from their Starters / Street Food menu. The Chicken Coxinhas and Spicy Malagueta Prawns were both fairly tasty.

As a main course I had the Picanha Burger: a burger made from Cap of Rump, which the menu says is Brasil’s favourite steak. The burger looked impressive, it even looked mouth watering. However I wasn’t too impressed. When I eat food in a restaurant I expect so much more, than to just fill up my belly!

My girl had the Rib Eye Steak on the skewer, which was a hell of lot more tasty and appetising than the the Picanha Burger.

We also had a couple of side dishes: black beans and Biro-Biro rice, both of which were delicious, especially when mixed together.

To finish off I had the Peanut Butter flavour frozen yoghurt with shredded coconut. I’m a big fan of frozen yoghurt and this was as good as it gets! Truly delicious…

I don’t know how authentic an interpretation of Brazilian food they do at Cabana Brasilian Barbecue – I will have to speak to a Brazilian – but never-the-less I enjoyed the experience. The food was mostly fairly good, the atmosphere was lively and the service couldn’t be faulted.
