Are You Ready For The Worldwide Music Awards

The Gilles Peterson Worldwide Music Awards are taking place at “The Garage” in Islington on Saturday 6th of February. It is an event that all lovers of good music should seriously consider attending. You may be wondering what these awards are all about? Good question! Keep on reading and I will let you know.

Lets start at the beginning I dare say some of you may not have even heard of Gilles Peterson, well he is a Radio 1 DJ, who has a show that airs on Wednesday’s between 2am and 4am, yes you read it correctly he is on air in the early hours of the morning. His show is described as joining the musical dots – soul, hip hop, house, Afro, Latin, dubstep, jazz and beyond. If you are an insomniac or have problems getting to sleep or just want to listen to some good music you should tune into this show.

The Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards are an annual celebration of all the best new music that  comes  through every year on Gilles’ Radio 1 show, with some of the best new acts performing on the night. And believe me all of those acts that are going to be performing will be providing an exciting night of original music.

There will be a real flavour of Havana at this years awards from special guest Danay who is flying in from Cuba to perform. And from what I have heard anybody that has seen her perform live in Havana it has quite simply been an unforgettable event. Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Music Awards are on being held on Saturday 6 February 2010 at The Garage in Islington. Tickets are £25 and it runs from 7pm until 4am or post 11pm tickets are £15 on door. Nearest tube station is Highbury & Islington (Victoria Line).
