Are You Ready For Some Vice In London
As all my cool readers are aware, London Is Cool is a blog that likes to keep its finger on the pulse as to what is happening in this crazy and the most happening city in the world. Don’t be alarmed by the title of today’s article, Are You Ready For Some Vice In London, and I’m sure you are all ready, able and willing for some vice, but it is not the Kind of vice you will find after midnight on Kilburn High Road.
It is time for the annual, The VICE Photo Exhibition 2009 in association with G-Shock, which will run for two weeks at London’s The Printspace from the 13th – 26th of August. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the work of not only leading Vice Photographers but some of the worlds biggest stars currently involved in photography.
The exhibition celebrates the VICE annual photo issue – the biggest edition of VICE Magazine with 205 pages published in 22 countries simultaneously. Having looked at the work of many of the amazingly talent photographers who are taking part in the exhibition I know it is going to be an event worth going along too. I however may add that I feel the exhibition is suitable for over 18’s only.
Some of the many highlights of the Vice Annual Edition and Exhibiton will include works by –
-
Black and White by Terry Richardson and Moonage Daydream by Ryan McGinley, images from both series have been used for two separate covers of the August issue of VICE.
-
Archival Girls by Richard Kern – early photos of old friends, old friend’s girlfriends, strangers and strippers.
-
Mystic Heather and Virgin Snow by Tim Barber – photographs from a portrait series of friend Julia in and around New York, and up in the woods of Western Mass.
-
Three Photos by Peter Sutherland
-
Jailbait Core by Dana Goldstein
-
Hackney Unicyclists by Alex Sturrock

This got my attention alright. Boy, the pictures are hot and I’m still fanning myself. Whew! The exhibition is near enough, will probably drop by this weekend. Thanks for the heads up!
