A London Bloggers Ghostly Experience In London

A London Bloggers Ghostly Experience In London

I was out and about in central London yesterday afternoon wandering around aimlessly.

I didn’t have a clue as to where I was, where I was going or where I would end up. In my mind that is the best way to see what this crazy city is all about. More often than not, I will stumble upon beautiful hidden buildings, secret alleyways & gardens and cool watering holes that are not tourist traps.

On this particular day I decided to head down a road near to the Houses of parliament to see if I could catch Tony Blair coming out of a hidden entrance. As most regular readers are aware, I plan on making a citizens arrest on Blair for his crimes against peace. My plan is to sneak up on him when he least expects it. I will put on a fake smile just like his and pretend I like him as much as he likes George Bush and then put my hand on his shoulder and give him the bad news.

I was armed with my trusty blood hound who was masquerading as a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and my bounty hunter mentality. I could almost taste the reward money. There was a foul smell in the air, I was certain that Tony and Cherie Blair were in the vicinity. Alas it was a false alarm, someone had dropped a kebab on the ground.

A cold shiver suddenly ran down my spine and the hairs on my arms stood on end, I felt that there was a sinister presence nearby. I looked across the road and all I could see was cloudy air rising from the ground, I thought WTF is going on here. Was it another ghostly experience for this London Blogger. Not quite it was just steam coming out of the nearby dry cleaners air vents.

It maybe wasn’t a ghost after all, but it was still a shock to my system. HONESTLY it wasn’t just another excuse to go for a few pints. There was only one cure for me and that was to find the interesting looking pub, which  I passed by 30 minutes earlier. After about an hour of searching I finally found it and my fragile nerves were cured after a couple of swift pints of lager.

London is much more than just the usual famous tourist attractions that we are all so familiar with, there is another side to this city that not even the locals see, let alone the tourists. Don’t be afraid to wander off the beaten track especially in central London into a labyrinthine that is hidden from your view. And if you see Tony Blair give me call…….

  1. I visited London last weekend and spent 7 hours just walking and exploring. At every junction I took whichever route looked most interesting. I crossed the river at least 4 times! :-) The living statues are the spookiest thing I discovered.
