I know there are guys and girls out there, that like to impress and be impressed and London sure gives such people the opportunity to do so. London abounds with famous places, attractions and establishments that cant but fail to impress your date. Such places are not for the Wackjob you have just met from the Gumtree Add, unless your desperate and have lost your mind!
I know we are living in recessionary times and money is tight, but the occasionally treat wont cripple you, on seconds thoughts it might, but anyways the rewards will be worth it. However if you are a robbing, cheating, lying British MP you can probably claim it all back on expenses, the rest of us will have to work hard and save up for it!
1. London Eye, why don’t you hire the whole pod exclusively for your date. I personally don’t think the normal bog standard London Eye experience has the slightest bit of romance to it, but the whole pod, that is whole different ball game. Of course it doesn’t come cheap expect to pay around £400.
2. Gordon Ramsay Chelsea Restaurant, I have personally never been, but if anybody out there wants to take me I will make myself available. However on the recommendation of friends, the food is excellent, the service is impeccable and it will be a truly unforgettable experience. An evening here of course doesn’t come cheap.
3. Claridges Afternoon Tea, for a wee taste of how the toff’s live, why not experience the elegance and luxuriousness of afternoon tea, sandwiches, scones and cakes in amazing surroundings. This one is more affordable for those feeling the effects of the recession. It will set you back £66 for you and your date.
4. Horse and Carriage Tour, why not do something slightly different and which shows that you have some imagination and are a true romantic. Take your date on a tour of London on a good old horse and carriage and if that doesn’t impress your date, you need to go and find someone more appreciative. I don’t know the price of this, but it must be expensive, because they are scared to publish their price list online!
5. S. B. Lady Daphne, this vessel is a historic sailing barge built in 1923. I think hiring this amazing boat for an evening cruise down the Thames, sipping champagne and some canapés would be an unbeatable date. You will also have Tower Bridge raised for you as you pass by it. The price of this one, is expensive!
There you have it 5 not so cheap places to take a date in London, I personally won’t be taken my date to any of these, well not until I figure out how to beat this dam recession!
