10 More Must Photograph London Places

After the amazing amount of interest and views yesterdays article 10 Must Photograph London Sights received, I have decided to give the public what they want and that is more photo taking locations in London.

London is a photographers wet dream and even those without much of a keen eye for spotting great picture taking opportunities cant fail in this city. In fact even a blind man could conjure up some amazing photos in London.

London really is one of the most photogenic cities in the world. There is an abundance of historic old buildings, iconic landmarks as well a diverse heady mix of modernity. London really has it all as far as photo taking is concerned.

10 More Must Photograph London Places

Canary Wharf:

Canary wharf, which is located in the Isle of Dogs, is a modern business and shopping development. There are an amazing amount of photo opportunities provided by this location, whether you want to get up close to the buildings or take scenic pictures from afar.

The O2:

The O2, in Greenwich south east London, maybe looks like an oversized tent, but at night time it is an amazing sight when it is all lit up. Head over to Greenwich Park and you will have a perfect location for taking some great photos.

The London Millennium Footbridge:

The London Millennium Footbridge is a modern steel suspension bridge, which crosses the River Thames. A very stylish looking bridge that is just yelling out to have its picture taken.

Battersea Power Station:

Battersea Power Station is a derelict former coal fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames. This amazing looking structure provides plenty of cool photo opportunities from either side of the river.

St. Paul’s Cathedral:

St Paul’s Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral, which sits on the highest point within the City of London. The Cathedral provides countless views and angles from which to take pictures.

Routemaster Bus:

A sight, which I never tire of seeing driving around London, is that of those historic red Routemaster double decker buses. There are still two routes in central London that operate with Routemasters. Which means you can go for a ride on one and find out some good locations from, which to shoot your pictures of it from.

London Buskers:

Buskers can make for some interesting pictures, why not head to the south bank of the River Thames or Covent Garden and you cannot fail to get some good pictures. Just remember to drop a few pennies in their hat!

Soho:

Why not head to London’s Soho area, which is an entertainment district in the centre of the West End of London. It was once upon a time a seedy and vice ridden area of the city. However nowadays it has virtually been cleaned up. You cannot fail but to find an array of different subject matters to take pictures of hear.

30 St Mary Axe:

30 St Mary Axe or more commonly known as the Gherkin is a 591 feet tall skyscraper located in the finacial disrict of the City of London. A modern building that looks totally different to everything around it, which makes for an interesting London photo location.

The horses of the Horseguards:

Why not head to St James’s Park or Hyde Park and bag some photos of the horses of the Horseguards being taken for their early morning canter.

One small piece of advice I would give to all tourists who come to London armed with a digital camera ready to photograph the best of the city, is to make sure that you have big memory card and carry a spare battery.
